I can't believe this actually happened. For the last year or more I have made a conscious effort to go to as many car shows as possilbe with my 13yo daughter. Just to get to spend more quality time with her. On Saturday we went the Dixie Car Club show in Benton Arkansas. Probably 175~200 cars, about 40 or so trucks. We won 1st place for best truck. There was some incredibly nice ones there, no way ours is nicer than many of those.

Installed the front shocks and put a few bolts on the wheel wells. The driver side shock doesn’t fit nicely under the wheel well like the passenger side does. Is that correct or do I need to make some adjustments when I get the fenders installed?

Still no wash & cleaning but I did get the chrome wheels switched over to my Mickey Thompson”s. I’m pleased with the ride & look already.

Interesting that your inner mount is so much taller like that.. I think mine are equal height (both about the position of your lower one) Hmm.
The shock mounts are about the same mounting height so I think it’s more related to the inner fender mounting and/or the inner fenders are slightly different for each side.

I just meant they are different locations..
Super old pic, but you can see mine are at the same level - that's all I meant. They basically use the same bolt to hold both in place (both down lower than the inner fender)

I figured out that it is close to change spark plug time. So I went into my newly inventoried stash and found a set, set them on the to do maintenance shelf. Decided to look at replacing the set I'm gonna use. Then I found these on line...

I found a set of NOS AC R45TS plugs stamped " AC FLINT MICH MADE IN USA" with the 4 green stripes. I compared these with the "bought within the last two months 'Made in China' set I had on hand. Notice the difference?

It has new marker lenses. I used the new-fangled LMC "clear-out" style on this '87. I like them alright but will not use any on a '73-80 model.

The factory quad shocks are setup with the add on shocks on a taller separate bracket, that kind of tucks behind the inner fender well.

If it's got rivets, it's factory.

Mxers first pic is factory quad shock brackets.
