I did get his number, only because he asked if I wanted it. I think he wants the truck for his son that was walking with him. I would rather give it to my nephew than sell it to a stranger.
Tonight I replaced the brake/hazard fuse in my '78 Suburban. And I also wonder how long I've been driving around without brake lights. Nobody rear ended me, so that's a plus.
Went out for a cruise last weekend about an hour northwest of Atlanta and we came home with a older camper top and 2 clean doors for the 73. Gonna paint it, rewire the lights all around the side, and have a buddy who’s an amazing painter/pinstripe artist touch up the filigree on the bubble windows
FINALLY got my 700r4 done. Got it all together, lastly checked endplay, it was a fucking .100" ..... jesus christ I tore it all the way back down to see if a torrington bearing was missing.... nothing.... then after scratching my head i realized i left the front planetary sungear out. Got it all back together, endplay is .022. Im good with that. It'll go in the truck soon.
PBblaster, hammerhead zipgun, patience, and a little luck you’ll be all good. Weld nut to stud instead of an ‘EZ out’.
Stopped by one of my loggers shop. Used his torch to heat it up cherry red and they all backed right out.
good thing you checked the endplay after assembly! I still need to pull down and clean my 4L80E... I'm holding off until I get the space cleared out from the engine parts so I don't misplace any important trans parts. Hopefully I can keep everything close enough together that I don't misplace anything important during re-assembly.
Meh it happens, like a stoner, i was very meticulously analyzing every little detail, all to see the input drum had splines on it, but those splines didnt attach to anything inside the trans. I then remembered i moved the sungear "out of my way" earlier
LOL - pulled in the warehouse and fumed the guys in the office as I left her running. Narrow alleyway & relatively narrow overhead door makes for some back and forth action to get in w/o bodywork ...
