So if it's durable why have you had to paint it 4x? I know you just got a new door but I would think just Rust-Oleum would last that long, esp since I realized your only in high school, so it's not like that's painted 4x in 15 years.

Not picking on you, like the other guy said just the first I have heard anyone say that. Have you just tried to add hardener to it one of those times...like paint hardener?

Not paint hardener, hardener for the fiberglass resin.

These are some reasons why:
(I swear, there isn't a straight panel on the truck)

I've also have had a lot of trial and error over the years trying to paint it, so it took me a while to come up with this.

How did it get into the woods like that? Did you drive it there and it flip? Doesn't look like it flipped down a bank to that spot?

I know which one you were talking about. I was just referring to paint hardener. If you didn't out the resin hardener into your mix you would end up with a gooey mess.

Hell nah. Shes stayin with whats left of it lol

Wonder if JB Weld would hold it, or maybe a screw in the middle.

If you could get the screw to work from the backside :D ( get ur mind out of the gutter) you would not even see it from the front.

Right - just wondered how you could reattach the painted portion.

Can't tell how it originally was held together, either

Then JB Weld it is! Unless that is you are in a "shady" area, in which case the locking gas cap is appropriate. Might even find a chrome model!

Ran a 3 wire NTK o2 sensor with heater. Goes closed loop faster.
Also, moved my manual proportioning valve for rear brakes inside cab below steering wheel.
All dash lights converted to led.
Big 3 wiring upgrade.

I don't claim to be even a passble painter by any means.

What? Did you expect me to say BUT or something?

This is about the 3rd or 4th time painting it.

(If I ever restore it, that will be a pain in the ass to get off)

I sanded it down with some 320, (Bodywork? Who gives a ****?) I loaded my own custom blended color into the paint gun.

6 parts Rustoleum Enamel, 1 part Fiberglass Resin, 2 parts Boiled Linseed Oil, 4 parts gasoline (or acetone), and a few drops of fiberglass hardener.

(Like I actaually measured stuff)

I just want it looking shiny (People seem to like the dents). The girls at my high school seem to find the truck very sexy. In front of all of the Mercedes and BMWs in the parking lot, my truck seems to attract the most female attention.

I've had a lot of free time since my girlfriend dumped me.
