Aligned to doors as much as possible with out the fenders. Still need minor adjustments now that the strikers and rubber are installed.

Had a coupe golf buddies help made it way easier.
I believe that is how you do it. Align the doors without the fenders, and align the fenders to the doors.

This little guy here has been giving me issues.

Initially, I thought the rear main seal was giving me issues, to when I did the stall converter, there was no oil there. Next, I thought it was the China wall at the back of the intake but then I got to feeling around the oil pressure sensor and bingo.

Through many gymnastics I got it out today, the whole kit and caboodle. I’m sure it wasn’t like this at the factory, but there is one straight pipe out of the block, then a T, then another 90° above that. The oil pressure sensor for the gauge goes into the side, and the pressure switch for the choke goes into the 90 degree on top.

It works just fine, I’ve never just never such an amalgamation of different fittings. I used 59214 thread sealant. I’ll give ‘er 24 hours to cure then we’ll see if she still leaks.
As crazy as it may sound yes some of them came with Tee fittings and both switches in the same location from the factory, Not saying yours did or didn't because I haven't memorized the pattern. It's even more confusing because some had a tee and 2 switches in the side of the block,by the oil filter. My personal expierience is it's always been the sender or switch itself that was leaking.

I added a headache rack to my 85. The lines of the rack look great with the cab lines. IMHOP. It doesn't sit above the roof height except the end caps.

I fought my new rear window over the last 3 hours by myself. Don't be like me get a helper what a pain. Was going to put a plane glass window in but the tinted ones were on backorder so another slider it is. Worked for about an hour and a half got it started part way up the sides propped it in place with a tire on the bed cover took a break for about an hour and hit it a gain for just over an hour.

Old aftermarket piece of janky crap someone jammed into a glass seal with a piece of fiberglass cut to help it fit the rounded top portion. Passenger side rattled so bad it would slide open on its own, and the driver side was so tight it only opened 1/4 of the way than you had to 2 hand it to get about 2/3rds open.

You can see the piece of fiberglass they jammed in it to make the top round

So warped that now that it's not in the truck both sides slide open normally. LOL!

The new tinted slider and rope in seal. Used some heavy gage wire as I didn't have rope light enough to fit in the channel.

I wonder if paracord would work? You won't be taking it out to redo it to find out, but for anyone doing this in the future and sees this, perhaps paracord would be the answer. Small enough in diameter, smooth shell, durable and hard to break.

I like the new window. I might have to do this to my '81, as the windows rattle unless I add small pieces of matchbook in the slots.

I didn't even think of that, but it probably would work pretty well. And I have a buddy who Keeps spools of the stuff on hand for his outdoor adventures I could have gotten a bunch of it.

If you ever need to get some, or rope, or other stuff they sell, it's made in the U.S.A. I have ordered some from them

I keep debating putting a slider in mine, especially since I don't have AC, it would be nice. But I refuse to do a 4-pane cuz of my family crest sticker. I think CR Lawrence makes a 3-pane that might work. Maybe I'll do that when it's time for tint...

The tint defiantly keeps the sun from baking the interior I've only just put mine in, but it makes a noticeable difference.

The three panel ones are more expensive for some reason. LMC sells theirs for almost half of summit but theirs is back ordered.

Nice truck. And it's the perfect color for the town you live in.
That’s true, especially in the summer. Once the rain starts falling, the bay turns from blue to greyish-brown with the sediment from the watersheds.

Thanks for the compliment! Someday when I stop messing with mechanicals, I want to have it redone in that same color.

Washed it for the first time since we bought it so Perry wouldn’t chastise me. Then took it to Napa for fuel stabilizer on the way to my mom’s house for dinner.

Got another punchlist item crossed off

Had a segment of stainless piano hinge sitting around, now it's useful. And so is the glovebox.

Decided to go after the fuel system next, at least get one tank online to start. Wanted a clear shot at the fuel pump, and found some crazy realities going on.
First, a strange bolt head behind the air pump pulley.

Discovered the threaded hole in the air pump housing is wallowed out for the mount bracket, which I think let the bolt rub on the pulley over time. Creating a pointy headed ⅜16 capscrew. I will get another bolt and use a bunch of red threadlock to (hopefully) hold it until the headers go on and the AIS comes off.

Then, looking around in general and noticed this, buried under the air pump. Nice belt rub. ffs

That's dumb. Almost as dumb as having the air pump pulley mounted backwards
