Also is it cool to use black RTV here only instead of the end piece gaskets?

My drivers side power window quit on me 2 weeks ago and I was pissed about it! I had to borrow a 40 ft ladder from a friend down the street and he said "bring your truck, it's heavy". I reluctantly got in to get the ladder knowing I wouldn't be able to Crack the dang window...then I noticed my oil pressure was at 0! So then, I raced around town for a few days like a freak looking for parts and replaced the window motor and oil pressure sending unit all in about 2 hours. It was very satisfying cranking the truck, seeing the needle move and the window glide up and down with fresh grease on all the moving parts.

If you live in a warm climate it's probably okay. It will block off the manifold heat crossover so fuel has a harder time vaporizing when the engine is cold. High performance engines will have them blocked off to keep the intake air charge cooler.

Carb, manifold, and distributer are in, hooked up all the vacuum lines and fuel. Now i need to figure out the throttle linkage bracket situation and adjust the valves.
Also this dipstick i bought is a totally different design from the original, anyone know what length it supposed to be? I think it was way overfilled IF i got the right one…

Your engine needs 5 quarts of oil with the filter, unless it has a deep oil pan, (after market). The new dipstick (chrome?) does not look correct.

Haven't posted anything in a while, spent some time doing the fun job of replacing driver door hinges, strike and a bunch of other little stuff, including replacing all the instrument bulbs and removing all the 1990s security system wiring. Also replaced the drag link but the steering box is a bit sloppy. Going to start trying to clean up bodywork over the summer, much of the roof has baked and peeled to bare metal so will try to sand the bare spots, hit them with self-etch primer and put some kind of paint over that. Have to keep everything else on the cheap for now.

While the wife was out of the house, I finished off with the flip kit. Everything is there, just need to torque the bolts to spec, then on to the front end.

New headlight on the driver's side.A 13 year old boy playing with a sling shot broke it yesterday.I was glad his dad did take care of it,bought a new headlight and did replace it.Had his son come down and apologize to me this afternoon.I accepted his apology and glad he learned his lesson.
