I paid $1500 for this 1990 2500. Spent its whole life on plant property, racking up a whole 7200 miles.

I was given this ‘84 by my uncle about two years ago. It belonged to my grandfather and had been sitting in the bushes for 10 years. Had to put a new clutch in it because the rats had built a nest so big and packed it tight in it I couldn’t get it all out. New radiator, battery, water pump. No A/C but the heater works. I put some “good enough” tires on it so I could keep it running and move it whenever I started doing things to it. I could do a lot to it but with my guns and hunting hobbies it’s tough when the wife looks at the bank account :)

It runs and drives really well..I’m sure it will run better when I put better tires on it. It needs either a new dash or a dash cover. The radio works but it needs new speakers. It’s not the most beautiful thing but it will get you from point A to point B.

I don’t plan on selling it but if I did I imagine I could put a grand on it and someone around here would buy it. This is in east Mississippi.

Dang, a three on tree too. That truck is so basic, it's beautiful.

Bought this 1984 C30 for $3,100 in May 2021. $5,000 later in November 2022. The 1986 Chevy K10 Suburban was $1,000 in July 2011. $20,000 later it looks like this.

That Burby looks like a little brother to the Dante's Peak Burby.

I paid 8k i think for my 87 k10 short bed in 1993. Almost 30 years later and the oem motor having 300k+ before she quit, I am still happy. Everyone said I over paid at the time of purchase, but I beg to differ.

I've got an 84 C10 short bed diesel I paid $2300 for in August 2020. I've since ten went all through it and now reliable as can be. Not crazy about the 6.2 but cool and different. Don't see many swb diesels. Paid $5000 in 2012 for a 1984 cucv. Almost no miles and straight as can be. Here's the swb. Still has the hole in drivers fender for the block heater plug

I bought mine for $800. I've told the story enough times on the forum so I'm going to truncate it for this post. A friend of might bought it in the mid-90's and owned it until his death in 2017. He took good care of the truck, but it sat a lot the last few years of his life when he was ill. I bought it for $800, in 2018 from his widow. Charged the battery and drove it nearly 200 miles home. I paid $800 for it. I knew it was a deal then thinking it might be a $1,500 truck, but realty has told me it's probably worth much more especially as it is now, because of the work I've one to it.

Below this is a terrible picture in the background the farm was undergoing some changes and it just looks terrible but this pic is the day after we brought the truck home.

What is she worth? I don't really know and I'm not sure I really care. I liked the truck when I got it and I love the truck as it is now.

But I paid $800 for her.
I've seen this rig in person and it's a dandy. Real clean with a nice patina and is pretty straight too. I've seen far worse interiors out there as well. The door panel clean up you did was real nice. An in kind replacement and you'd be in the $10k neighborhood I think. The problem is you'd be hard pressed to find a replacement that put as many smiles on your face or the faces of others for the same amount.

Thanks Dave it's very kind of you to say that, I didn't really realize you stopped to look at it when you were here. You have yourself a pretty nice truck as well, I would know as I have worked on it. It'll be great when you have the interior back together. Honestly because of the history of my truck, it's pretty much irreplaceable. I have thought about that. It's been a LONG time since I've been as attached to a vehicle as much as I am to my truck.

Originally, this was a 305/automatic and was two tone red/white. A few years back it had any and all rust fixed and was repainted black by the previous owner. They also put in a 350 with an SM465, and 3/4 ton axles with 3.73 gears. Front end and door panels from an '89 Suburban. There's no A/C compressor. Runs and drives very well. Clean title, but "TMU" because the odometer does not work.

No idea if I got a good deal or not. Don't really care, because I plan on keeping it for the rest of my life and values are only going up. I always wanted a square and this one is pretty much exactly what I wanted.

i remember in the '70's and '80's you could pick up a good runner for $500 all day long....where did those days go...
overpaid for mine, but when you want it.....
crew's are rare as hens teeth where i live, after searching for over 3 yrs, found one at a gov auction 900 miles away in 1997. started out reasonable at $3500, then was quickly bid to $6000, then i jumped in and thought i had it till another sq fan started kickin' up the price. long story short, got into a bidding war and ran it up to $9200 before the other guy backed out. since then i've added approx another $25-28 k into it, although almost half that total was for body and paint. got a big box with every bill for every part , i would be scared to actually add it all up. but i don't care, never plan on selling and it makes me happy every time i light up the 454.
no "day i brought it home pic", closest i got is about 5 or 6 months after purchase when i lifted it.

My dad bought this C10 Scottsdale new in 1978 for $6,764.60. It’s mostly original 130k mi. The seat was redone in 90s, the roof is fading a little and has a few paint issues. It sure does shine up good. It’s been in NM all its life and garages mostly. I drive it regularly. People always comment/photograph/record it. I have had some ridiculous offers for it. I won’t ever sell it.

I just bought this one $1000 it’s a 82 K30 454 TH400 NP205. I bought it for the frame (great shape), axles and drivetrain. To convert mine to 4x4. Has all AC and cruise control parts with tilt column. Cab is beyond repair, floors, rockers, kick panels and corners are shot. So are the fenders and bed. Thankfully it’s got all the parts I need for my C30 to K30 that I want.

Strangely the doors have no rust at all.
