Paid $1500 for this one. It was 3 hours away. No tag, no title, no insurance...leave the guys house, jump on the interstate and a doggone state trooper pulls on right behind me. We get on proper and he just blasts around lol. Drove home without issue...

I bought my truck (77 K 20) in 2004 for $500.00. Body was rusted and hanging off of it. Drive train 350/350 and all the 4 WD components worked great. Drug it home to a friends house and we took the body off. While looking for a body (ended up with an 86) we stripped the frame and coated with POR 15. New leaf springs, all new breaks, break lines and shocks, and sent the motor off to be rebuilt and balanced. We painted it ourselves in the driveway. The bedsides and front fenders are aftermarket, rest of body is GM from the donor 86. That entire process took about 2 years, we just tinkered with it on the weekends etc. Back then I had the seat re done and found a good dash. Recently the original headliner went to **** and the dash has a lot of cracks. I just test fit all new interior trim from LMC and have a new headliner I hope to put in this week. I am going to try a DIY dash rehab and am considering doing away with the rubber mat and going with carpet. As you can see we went with a black color scheme. All the new interior is going black. The only other change I plan sometime is tires. I had a bigger set on and they finally got to the point I didn't trust them. I put it on jack stands and hauled the wheels and tires to Discount Tire. Once I got there they said the tires on it were bigger then what the specs allow them to replace, so they wouldn't put the same size back on. I bought these, the absolute cheapest set they have until I can find another set larger and a different shop to put them on. All and all I have less then 5K in it since we did all the work ourselves, up until the recent market I was a little upside down. Recently I have been offered quite a profit on it but not interested in selling. Of all the vehicles in my driveway (18 Wrangler, 21 Hemi charger, 22 Durango) I get more compliments on this than anything I have ever owned.

I paid $4000 for the GMC, and the K5 was free, saved it from the junkyard. Both are one owner.

I paid $6700 for mine in 2016. 1976 GMC C15 SWB Fleetside. I was planning on spending less for longbed but my wife and my dad convinced me to swing for a short bed since I planned on keeping it. Most shortbeds in houston sell for way too much for me so I was very happy at that price.

It had an 80s chevy front end, interior, and bedsides on it and had a 454 th400 in it as well. Power everything, working ac. Floors were solid looking. Overall cosmetically it is how I got it.

Found out that the floors and rockers were repaired poorly so thats on my list to fix. Been just keeping it in the road since then since I have a young family and money has other priorities now. I have rewired it and rebuilt the trans amongst other things. Overall, very happy with what I have. Fun to drive around in on date night and it is my truck so home depot runs are a must for it

@carfanatic63 what is this on the left side of this pic? That is a very 1980ish seat... I almost see some GL1000 looking reflection in the side of the beautiful black rear fender.

Just brought my ‘81 C10 SWB home this month. Paid 7k for it, with rebuilt sbc and 350 trans. Body is rough but undercarriage is so mint I can’t believe it, needs a new or refurbished dash and a bench seat. Power windows and locks still work and has a 12 bolt rear end. Has some rocker and door rot that will be redone. Overpaid? Maybe. The inventory on the western side of the Cascade crest is clearly low. A nice daily driver is running 15k or more up here now, so with the 8k difference I figured I’d get more of a project and make it mine.

Purchased in Oct 2022. Asking was $2500. I picked it up for $1,800.

Overall not in horrible shape, but there are some rust spots at the bottom of a few of the panels and the metal bed is not in great shape towards the cab.

In hindsight, $1600 might've been a bit much for what I ended up with back in '20, considering how much damage was done to the fuel system but it's a BB camper special with only one rot spot on the driver's rocker. It sits in the driveway still because life has that nasty habit of kicking you in the huevos sometimes.

I'll get started this spring and see how it goes. BIL has lots of parts from his square adventures that he said I can get into if needed. It needs all the rubber redone (window channels, fuel line, belts/hoses, brake rubber) and someone decided to lose all the park brake cabling and fittings. The only serious body damage is from where some idiots decided to plant their ample a$$es on the roof (wtf??) and the sliding rear window bites a$$. Other than that, it's whoo hoo all the way to the parts store.

I gave $250 for this '85 C10 Suburban back in 2015. It ran and drove, but the inside was trashed from the original owner using it to haul square bales, and it was developing rust in the usual places. It also went under water shortly after I bought it (It still ran after that, lol.) I ended up gutting it, many pieces of it have actually ended up on the previous 2 trucks I've posted.

Haha. Thats my old 1982 GL1100 Standard (no fairings or bags factory).

That was a good cool bike. Just not "me". Sold it and bought back my vfr800 I had in college and have an st1300 for when my wife and I go out on rides too.

If we have other people thay ride, we may need a motorcycle thread going too!

Vfr in the background for reference
