…And i’m not exactly sure where to attach the adjuster arm to the engine.

everything I’ve researched, and everything that has been suggested, say that you mount it to the water pump, but does that mean you remove a water pump bolt and attach it to the outside of the water pump or do they mean the additional mount (The one that does not bolt to the block) added to the water pump, specifically for the power steering pump.

and that’s a lot of torsion to put on a single bolt. What’s to keep it from loosening, from just simple vibration?

This is the only way it will mount and where my hand is touching the two bracket mounts, are the only places holding the entire pump.

… they are both on the front of the pump and one is adjustable.

That doesn’t seem very strong or stable. How is that supposed to resist against the constant pull of the belt?

…and what is this long bolt with the spacer and washer & these extra nuts and washers for?

… and the two bolts to come with the kit, aren’t even bolts. They are Allen head studs with nuts and washers.

I don’t think this is a standalone bracket.

after lining up all the bolt holes with the new bracket, I am still able to align the old bracket with unused holes, except the adjuster arm, which seems quite unneeded since the original bracket has a mounting slider slot where are the new adjuster should mount.

It's a very universal bracket kit, I believe for use with short water pumps also.

The big problem is it only works with pumps that have the threaded bolt hole on the backside of the pump, at the bottom. Which yours does not have.

You can remove your reservoir can from the pump to see if your pump body has the threaded hole. If so, you can just drill a hole in the reservoir and install the correct stud that would thread in there.

I wasn’t aware they are separable.

How do you do that?

Here are some photos of the bracket I bought for my 74 K5. Its billet from LMC and is exactly as seen above. Let me know if you have any more questions or desire more pics.

I gave up…

This useless thing was not designed for my pump or something. There is only 2 bolts that would end up holding it to the brackets and only 2 bolts on the bracket holding it to the block.

The original bracket had five bolts holding the brackets to the head & water pump & 3 bolts holding the pump to the brackets.

I reinstalled the old bracket shimming them with nuts and washers to align the pulleys.

i don’t think it’s useless… looking at it, without knowing the quality of its metal or weight. It’s got geometry on it’s side for structure where as the original is thin more plate like steel which is gonna, in my opinion, be easier to be bent/distorted especially when it wasn’t used correctly. The other one a guy literally just showed uou how and someone chimed in about the extra bolt needed. Stud rather.

I don’t know what bracket you’re thinking of or why you would think that my stock bracket is thin and bendable.

It’s 1/8” steel plate.
you could beat somebody to death with this oem bracket.

…and how do you think that four bolts is, in any way, stronger than 8 bolts?

And I’m not about to start drilling holes in the reservoir to accommodate some aftermarket bracket, because no auto parts store sells the pump that fits the bracket.

That’s backwards.

The bracket is supposed to accommodate the pump you can get.

… And as far as pumps with a bolt or mounting hole on the back , Every auto parts store said there were no options. Different brands, but no alternative options. I even asked every auto parts store (o’Reillys, Napa, Carquest, & AutoZone) to show me pictures of every brand. Not a single one of them had a bolt or a hole on the back of the pump.
