Has anyone tried the heat shrink vinyl wrap to refurbish a dash pad? Mine is in decent shape but needs some work. Thought maybe a simple re-cover with the heat shrink vinyl automotive wrap might work.

One thing that I have learned from using vinyl wrap is that it shows everything… I sanded a roof down and put vinyl wrap over it and could see just about every sand scratch. With that said, if you have cracks, it will without a doubt show.

If you are looking for cheap options, I recovered my dash for $6. I took a “microsuede” material from Walmart that stretched and it conformed to my dash perfectly.

I followed your seat thread. But that seat looks good!

OK, so I "tried" this. If your dash is in really bad shape I would say it is worth trying on a budget. The large flat areas look pretty good, but most of the corners are pretty wrinkly and I had to seam one spot. Maybe if you are really experienced in laying vinyl and have more patience than I do it could turn out really good. I did foam and bondo the speaker holes to prep the dash. The vinyl I bought was from Vvivid vinyl on Amazon, and was a 5x10 sheet for $60. I will try to get some pics later today.

This truck only had the metal part with the vinyl and padding stripped off when I got it, so I just carpeted it. I didn't want to spend $350 for a new dash pad on an old truck. I can probably find a complete interior from a donor truck for that price. It was a little bit of effort, but the price was right!!

Here’s the pics after a few days. The curves on the right side of the gauges was no doubt the hardest. By time I got to the far passenger side I was really frustrated
