I am nearing the point where I get to lay down some undercoating on my cab and I was wondering what kind I should go with. Like many people I want the bottom to stay black and rust free for as long as possible. So what methods have you guys used and how have they turned out?

 I hear ya. It is a little pricey but the stuff spreads super easy so a little bit goes a LONG way. So it's really not as $$$ as it initially appears. I undercoated my entire truck 7 years ago and it's still black and rust free.

It's been a while but I wanna say I used a quart or maybe slightly more and that covered my entire frame, under the cab an under the bed and wheel wells.

a quart would do the bottom of the cab. I did an entire monte carlo floor with 1 quart.

IMO it is the best way, undercoating comes off and let's junk rust anyways. We've used rustoelum and duplicolor spray can undercoat and after a year or so it's not very dark black anymore and usually showing rust or looking like you never even did it.

POR-15

zero rust

or miracle paint

something along those lines.

Will do!

I'm thinking about just shoveling over the money for enough por 15 to cover my frame and body undersides now. I'm worried that my frame will rust and nows the time to coat it since everything is off. Right now I have two coats of regular paint with 2 coats of primer underneath, that was put on about a month ago. So if I coat por 15 on the frame on all of the paint will it still do its magical rust prevention? To undercoat the box and cab and coat the frame i'm guessing ill use about a gallon and half.

Yes it will but you will want to spray some stuff called "Metal Ready" on the frame first to kind of prep it. It'll help the Por15 to adhere to it even better then :waytogo:

Mine done with brush on Dupli-Color bed armor. Frame blasted and primed then flat black paint.
