Yes. Although come to think of it, there could be a total of 6 variations. I'm not sure about the 1-tons, but there are two versions of the flat style crossmember. The later ones are a slightly different stamping and have extra holes in the flanges, presumably for skid plates.
My 80 k3500 400/205 is flat only 2 1/2” rise with holes for skid plate

My memory was off a bit in my description, but that's the one I would say had less holes. And there's another flat version that I forgot about. Pictures to follow...

From foreground to background:

'87-'91 10-30 series. Dual frame mount holes for mounting above or below the frame rail. Uses single rubber mount for 'short foot' adapters.

'85-'86 10-30 series. Dual frame mount holes for mounting above or below the frame rail. Uses single rubber mount for 'short foot' adapters.

'81?-'84 10-20 series. Mounts below frame, uses dual rubber mounts for 'tall foot' adapters. Has more holes in stamping and has thinner flanges in areas.

'73-'80? 10-20 series. Mounts below frame, uses dual rubber mounts for 'tall foot' adapters.

'78 K20 series and other years unknown to me. Mounts below frame, plus has braces that tie into the top of the frame rail. Uses dual rubber mounts for 'tall foot' adapters.

Not pictured are any '77-'84 K30 crossmembers. The only one I'm aware of is the one that HOTFOOT posted.

*Note*
The flat style K30 crossmember was also used in all the CUCV M1008. They did not get the same updates that civilian trucks got.

this is a 77 K25 SM465 to 205 with what appears is the tall adapter and flat member

this is from a 1980 K25 with I think the same setup except short adapter, the outputs are rear slip front flange whereas the 77 was rear flange front slip

for what its worth its a 85 or 86 or something MY Sm465/NP208 (32 spline not 10 like old ones) with the W, but the cross member is backwards. the truck is a 1980 but that doesnt affect much going on here

whats the purpose of the short/tall? the truck would have sat the same height, i think, as the 1980 and had the same engine(sbc)
Front and rear differentials were the same, too.

Actually now that I Ask, what made the outputs swap around? for fun haha?

It's just a design change. The tall mounts take the low-slung 'flat' crossmember.

I'm not sure what you mean about the outputs. All fronts are a fixed yoke style. Rear slip yokes started showing up in '80 to streamline the assembly process.

Im doing an Nv4500 swap and I got my nv4500, 205 t case and its all married together and mocked up in the frame without a cross-member on jack stands and blocking. I went to a local yard and got the top crossmember in this picture. I did some reading and was pointed towards this one. Called the s type? Well i have it all in there with the tranny sitting on the cross-member but theres no body on it so i dont know if the tranny cross-member is supposed to be mounted above or below the frame rail for height clearance. I have it on top currently and i feel like its supposed to be under. Whos done this before?
Im using the nv4500 mount bushing mount that was in the truck i stole it out of for fitment.

@Preston Tucker my K30 has the W crossmember and it's above the frame rail. I would think due to the fact my frame is deeper than your K20, you should have it below.
