Well.... I need one. I may want more than one though. I have found some elsewhere but checking here too. Exploring all the options. I'd rather not change cross member. Thanks.

If you find one in the short version let me know!

I have the tall one and I need to drill out one side cause the mounting bolt is sheered off. I would prefer the short version but Im not sure if there even is such a thing?

I have one. The thing is, I might use it. I did, however, see one or two of the short versions on eBay. Show me a pic of the ear with the bolt broken off in it. Maybe we can trade.

I'm thinking I'll use the short one, add brackets and poly bushings in the extra space, and delete the B.S. factory-style mount. I could locate then change to the "w" cross member and put this issue to bed but I don't want to do that. I might even buy one of those aftermarket billet jobs from behemoth or something. I guess I'm just going with the flow on this one because I just can't seem to make my mind.

Of course, the Behemoth product is only like .8" thick with the claim of better spline engagement but with that would come the necessity for a longer rear driveshaft tube and, sequentially, a shorter front one... nah... ain't like'n that idea. Besides, the one that I shattered did so without breaking my transmission case so maybe that weak link is a good thing.

I have found zero definitive information in regards to that. In a nutshell, I'm finding anything from 1977 to 1986. Guess I could contact a GM parts guy and pick his brain... or his computer

Or did you mean the short one? I'm equally confused on that as well.
