I think I am going to give the current 6.2 T/C a try for now. I do have a governor kit and vacuum modulator on it's way though. The more I look into it, and don't doubt what has been said about holding the 5.7's rpm's down with the lower stall, this engine is only temporary.
My reasoning is, I may decide to go with a different engine next winter when this 5.7 goes into the boat it was built for.
Have a customer that is planning to repower his '86 square from a tired 454 to a 502. May swing a deal for it for the new build. Will have to see if the 5.7 is good enough for this truck with the low gearing and will explore T/C options once the final powerplant has been decided on if needed.
