I just picked up a 78 2wd c10
It was parked 3 years ago due to a rear main seal leak.
Ran fine up until that point.
It was parked eiwi a half tank of gas.
I figured IdI start with getting old gas out.
Any options, advice, instruction is greatly appreciated.

If you pull the filler neck hose off you can drop a hose in the tank (make sure it goes to the bottom) either suck on it to start the siphoning action or use a transfer pump depending on how dangerously you like to live.

What Lego said. Most hardware stores will have "jiggle hose" which is a hose with a valve on the end that you drop in the tank and shake/pump, letting the inertia of the liquid start the siphon.

Autozone has a really cheap siphon for about $3, but I might spend a little more for one this from Home Depot https://www.homedepot.com/p/Arnold-Siphon-Pump-Kit-490-850-0008/203051321. I would never be desperate enough to suck on the hose with my mouth.

This guy also has a good idea, although I'm not sure how well it works if the gas tank has a good vent line.

I use an electric fuel pump that was installed in my C10. I attached about 4-5 feet of fuel line to the outlet side of the pump, 5-6 feet of clear inlet tubing (like you often see with siphon pumps), and about 25 feet of power wire.

Slip the inlet line into the tank, the outlet line into a gas can, hook up the 12V supply, and watch as the magic of electricity does all the dirty work!

I used to use a $30 hand pump setup purchased at Lowes or Autozone. It leaked all over creation, had poor suction, and did not last long. I think I only ever managed to pull 8 gallons of old gas from our Ranchero before it fell apart.

Dont have much to add that wasnt already covered except if you're gonna use your mouth have some Listerine or better yet whisky on the side. Gas tastes rough man. I'm sure 3 year old gas tastes even worse.

You can cut a slit in the hose near the discharge end about half through. Then shoot compressed air into the slot. Should work.
