we had alot of troble with ors, trying leacing the brackets and the bar to the bracket bolts all the way loose, just barely holding on, like 2 or 3 threads or so, then try to line up the u bolt plates.

Ours we left bolted to the u bolts, but had issues bolting to the frame, may even need to flip the brackets over and/or switch sides.

It's rough it was for us, but you'll get it.

I'm thinkin' the new bushings are angling the bolt. I tightend them up and took it for a drive, and to my surprise It stopped pulling to right when I brake. I guees the swaybar does more than just eliminate sway. The spring plates still look funky to me and i'm gonna keep tinkering with it.

good looking bar and shocks I like that.

I thought our 86 sway bar bolted to th eoutside of both spring plates? maybe I'm wrong tho, it's been awhile.

That ds spring plate does look weird, like angled?

oh and our sway bar drop brackets from rough country were thicker, like 2 inches or so and c shaped not box tube. Maybe that's why you had trouble with them?

What is that 1" or 1.5" box steel under the top mounts of the sway bar? It looks like it is more moving the bar to the rear than actually lowering it, might be why it's not lining up right.

It's 1.5" steel square tube, its pretty strong stuff. I went to 3 different offroad places and this is the superlift version of the drop brackets for a 4-8" lift. They fit fine when I had the 8"lift and the mangled bushings. now I have a 6"lift and new bushings all the way around.

I don't doubt the strength, I'm just saying from looking at the pic they look like they are moving the sway bar more back than down.

You know you right, I over-looked that. The holes in the frame have room for adjustment, but the the bolts are pegged all the way forward already. I think Im gonna have to get the C shaped brackets instead. I was wondering why I can't find a picture of the brackets I have online. Maybe they discontinued them.

Looks like a 1.25" plug for a trailer reciever would pop in those holes.....??

curt's exactly right, the c shaped ones we used had an inch slot for each bolt on top, and an inch slot on each bottom for bolts. That gives you some wiggle room. We ordered them directly from rough countrys website using crdit caard, they were around $70 I think at the time.

I don't run a sway bar on my 79 High Sierra, it wasn't matching up because of 2 inches added to the lift kit. So I disabled it. And it has gotten me hung up a few time. Can Someone pm me about what type of stuff I would need to get to replace a 1 ton Drum Breaks. I am at a loss. I know I need Brake Cleaner. But would Blue RTV work?
