Hey guys. I'm looking into rebuilding the front end of my 1/2ton 88 2wd suburban. I'm also going to be replacing leaf spring bushings as they are rotted almost completely out. Are all the leaf spring bushings the same or are they different sizes? I will be replacing ball joints tierods pitman arm idler arm ect with Moog parts. From what I read they seem to be the best for the price. Another question I have is how good are the Gabriel Load carrier shocks? I don't want to stiffen up my ride too much but my current shocks are toast and I have 32x11.50xr15 on a stock ride height so then scrub every now and then in the front. I just want to bring it up a hair so when I put new tires on it won't scrub as bad. Any opinions on them? Thank you for any responses

If you put new springs on the front will raise up level with the back.just did mine and I'm good to go about 3 inches higher than b4. Sits at factory hight

I bought all MOOG parts for my 73 GMC 3/4 2wd truck....I bought their Problem Solver line, all nice pieces and made in USA. I got em from RockAuto, they had the best prices by far.

My truck sits prettily level. It actually doesn't even have the typical saggy diaper look most suburbans get. I'm sure the springs are tired but they can't be too bad for only having 140,000 miles. I don't want to replace springs unless I have to. I'd rather just hope the load carriers will make up the difference or maybe just the bushings. I'm open to any ideas though

So Moog is a good plan then. I'll have to check Rock auto prices. Summit racing has better prices than any local part store

Do a Google search for the rock auto 5% off code if you decide to buy from them. it isn't a huge discount but every little bit helps these days......

Moog it is then. Lol. So what about the load carrier shocks? Any opinion on how well they work? And the leaf spring bushings are they all the same size?

Bushings of all things, I'd want the better ones. I've heard horror stories of inadequate rubber and within a year the rubber was cracking and getting spongy gooey in short order just from heat from the engine on the uppers. That's ridiculous. To much labor and work involved to save $20-$25 and be doing it again a year or 2 later. JMO.
