Anyone know the size of the single speaker in the center (top) of the dash in a 78. If the year matters.

Ok dou you happen to know how to add speakers (if possible) to a factory radio with a single speaker? Is there a thread by chance?

Haven't done anything like that since high school. Don't recall it being too difficult though.

Probably the same as mine. You should be able to just splice the rear speaker wires in to the center speaker wire, and run all 3. I am getting ready to do the same thing, I just pulled the original speaker out and am getting ready to order a replacement. The original was really trashed, it's amazing it still worked!

Are you buying the corner mounts or making you own? I think I am going to try making my own, they look pretty simple.

I just took mine out of my 80 K20 to put in my 78 K10. I want to keep the dash original on the 78. Not too worried about the 80 right now, it's off the road for a rebuild, will worry about a radio for it when I get it back on the road. I am hoping to make something similar to these:

I've seen an adapter that has two 4" speakers in it. Psst...it's in my truck.
