Agreed. The 4th gen cars sat you wayyy too low and there's no hope of seeing anything past the edge of the dash. I could never get comfortable in them.

I've never owned a foxbody but the SN cars I'm very comfortable in. I'm not super tall, I know several of my 5' 10" buddies could never get comfortable in my SN's but they were ok in Foxbodies

The sloped hood and big windshield must play tricks on you. The 3rd and 4th gen cars actually share a lot of proportions and sizes, other than the front clip and roofline. Front and rear seats both swap between generations. The floor pan is roughly similar and the entire rear suspension is the same. People have actually used 4th gen door panels and dashes in 3rd gens because they are so similar in size. But anyway, I'm not actually sure why I like driving a 3rd gen better. I should like the 4th gen just as much, but I don't.

I haven't spent much time in the fox bodies. I just remember them being cheap and basic feeling, but overall comfortable I guess. It's the later ones that I'm uncomfortable in. Especially the manual trans... shifter placement is terrible, imho.

I love my 4th gen Z28. I can promise you that the 4th gen cars are awesome cars to make a real street/strip beast. My brother has a 87 Z28... as a tall guy i have more room in my 4th gen vs his 3rd gen. The 3rd gen cars are awesome as well and easier to work on. If you done have a post lift the catfish can be a real headache to get certain jobs done.

I went way in the other direction from my LS swapped Suburban. Bought a 71 Super Beetle to put back on the road. I just finished rebuilding the top of the engine. Its running pretty good now.

A couple quick pics to follow on to the MGB project pics posted earlier. Freshly taken this past weekend:

Engine bay with factory air cleaners and new metal float chamber vent lines that route any overflow down past the exhaust since the location of the carbs would allow them to drip onto the exhaust if a float were to stick open.

Front panel is largely complete and fully functional (pretend you don't see the missing heater controls). Need to get/fabricate some sort of lenses for the brights indicator and alternator warning lamps. Center section wiring has been repaired (and labelled) where previous owners chopped it apart with various radio installs or whatever - some wiring will not be reused since I don't have the later year seats that have the microswitches for the seatbelt warning system and I'll be using older style seatbelts that clip onto the rear deck. Hazard lights system is completely functional again. All exterior bulbs except the headlights have been switched to LEDs. On the interior all gauge backlights are LED now as is the hazard indicator for the center section and the brights indicator. Turn signal indicators on the panel and the alternator warning light are still incandescent because they won't work properly otherwise.

Yeah I know all that, but the way the nose drops off and the bulbus dash make it impossible for me to see the nose of the car (I am short though lol). Idk if there's just enough difference in the pan or if it's more the seats or a combo of all that and the nose/dash issue but I just can't get comfortable in a 4th gen car.

I never cared for Foxes when I was younger but the older I get, the more I want a notchback car. Preferably in teal lol. I worked on a ton of them for friends but never owned one.

I hate this set up as the scrub line is mucho bado.
If I were to get a flat, the spring hardware would drag.

Yea, this fails PA safety inspection. For the young ones that don't know about scrub line. Scrub line is an imaginary line from the bottom of each wheel, front to back and side to side. No part of the suspension or frame may be below that line. Exception, the exhaust system.
