Being that it was owned by two older folks before me, I highly doubt this truck has been over 100MPH until today...

In just a little over 1/4 mile from a dead stop, the speedometer was pegged. (some day I will find my 454SS cluster to install...)

Yep, so I guess it's running good now.

Like a scalded cat. Hell, I only had the pedal about 2/3rds of the way down with the speedo pegged, it had more to go.

Transmission slips a little from 2-3 though. Need to look in to that.

So it was the fuel pump after all. Strange it didn't show it's face until the IAC was changed. I figured it would have been fuel related being no codes were tossed.

700r4 :banghead:
Does it flare or takes a while to engage with no rpm rise? If it is the one from the bird, it was already a replacement trans from 6-8 months before i got the car. I am genuinely starting to get annoyed by the non built 700r4's at this point. And I have one about to go in my 67 camaro that is original 130k mile trans.

Let me know how this trans problem works out.

Took it to my first Austin Cars n Coffee. Not super impressed with the show, too many stance morons and ********** in brand new cars that I can see in my neighborhood (I do not give a rats ass about your Maserati). Also too many grown ass men acting like teenagers revving their engines in the parking garage to set off car alarms...Seriously, grow the fugg up, I got that **** out of my system 20 years ago. Others felt the need to crank up their stereos to set off alarms. Some moron in a 1968 Firebird wanted to race on the way home but there were too many cops and I wasn't comfortable wringing it out yet. Did take it down some twistie-turnies on 2222 though. Once I lower it and get a decent set of tires, it's going to be like driving a GTA with a bed.

I do need to do valve seals though, bad.

Had the truck out all day today, took my friend to look at some Suburbans. Ran fine, but at least it decided to wait until I was almost home to shred the serp. belt.

I was headed home and on the road by the highway, a red IROC was behind me. At the next light he was to my right honking at me to get my attention and pointing at my tailgate (which has a TPI emblem robbed from a Z28 at the junkyard) and gives me a huge thumbs up. Gave him one back, it was a nice car.

Went to the junkyard yesterday and while I struck out on what I needed, I did find a BRAND NEW Delphi 16198445 ECM in a wrecked 1989 GMC S15 2.5. Swapped that in and what a difference, throttle response is better, it doesn't die when I start it now. Highly recommended if you can find one. They had another but it was original to the truck.
