New to me 87 K5. Going thru electrical stuff to get it safe for my son.

The front parking lamp sockets were falling out of the factory housings, not to mention they were super hazy. I replaced the hosings with clear units from LMC, and found that one of the sockets was bad in the process. replaced both sockets with Dorman units. The sockets are still loose fitting and seem like they will fall out over time. Is there a manufacturor other than Dorman that makes a decent unit?

Unfortunately, despite the name they're all made in China. It's hit or miss but a a lot more misses than hits.

Hmmm. There's supposed to be a gasket on the socket to seal where it attaches to the housing. Perhaps you're missing that?

nope. I have the gasket. Even the factory ones are loose and kept falling out of the factory housings, but both sockets and housings were fairly worn. Was thinking new sockets and housings would resolve my issue, but did not. Wonder if there is an unpdated socket and bulb that would work better. something other than 1157 stuff
