Rear End POSI or Not

I have a 1973 Chevy Cheyenne half ton pickup and was wondering if anywhere on the truck it told if it was a posi or open, as well the gear ratio? I wish I knew more about the truck because my grandfather bought it used and drove it till the transmission was shot and parked it for 28 years. thanks -Dalton

The RPO sticker in the glovebox should give you a clue if things weren’t changed at some point. The code for limited slip is G80. The code on mine for gear ratio is GU*, but if you want to post a pic of the sticker, that’d be helpful if that’s not the code yours has.

Jack up rear by pumpkin. Turn one rear wheel. If both go in same direction = posi. Opposite direction = not.

Sorry if I'm a noob, but I couldn't find any sticker in the glove box, I could only find one on the driver fender.

They put them there, too! I don’t know the older squares’ secrets as well as the newer ones. It doesn’t look like that one has any pertinent information, but someone else may chime in on where to find it before you have to jack up the rear wheels and count turns.
