Anyone have any luck trying to figure out Outer wheel house replacement? I have a 1987 3/4 ton suburban. Have both front rockers done and fabricated passenger door rockers from front pieces. Moving on to the rear quarters now and need to replace the outer wheelhouses. Very little lip left to weld to. Now the issue at hand, The Outer wheelhouses I have do not even remotely resemble what I need to replace. Replacement catalogs list Parts for trucks, suburbans and Blazers are the same. I spent several hours trying to get them to fit, but they are not even close. I botched one trying to get it to work , what am I missing? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Burb outer wheelhouses are not available, you just have make something work. It's stupid really, about every Burb that sees snow needs them, but nobody makes them.

Looked at the project again with fresh eyes. I am thinking of cutting the lip section from an outer fender from a replacement panel, then trying to piece the arch closed. Like on the cap of a roof. It may not be pretty but it will be functional. may have to use rivets or panel adhesive, remaining metal marginal. Has Anybody else have any ideas on donor pieces?? Thanks.
