Damn, that Suburban looks brand new! Still priced way too high. Mine has about 145k on it & will be priced within the kbb Private Party Value range.

Wow, that's a beaut! I agree about it being priced too high. However, something to keep in mind is that generation truck is just on the cusp of becoming a collector/classic so the values are pretty much bottomed out right now. They never really "went away" or "out of style", I still see tons of them on the road unlike the squares and GTM400s that largely disappeared from day to day traffic for a long time. But it's getting harder and harder to find nice ones of this vintage, people are getting more and more frustrated with newer trucks and dumping them to get back into one of these, or people around my age are starting to reminisce about them and want another. So it's only a matter of time before these take off in popularity like the squares and GMT400s have.

A realistic price on that truck here would probably be ~13-15k. 'Burbs are low hanging fruit for most people, RCSB and CCSSB are the most desirable and expensive. You can find super nice 'burbs with like 120-150k around us for $6k-12k pretty regularly

You saying it is becoming a classic, I don't see that vintage as a classic. But, last night I was reflecting on your comment and realized that my '56 Sedan was 30 years old when I got it and my '65 C20 was 22 years old. I didn't consider them classics at the time, as maybe 90% of us that drove in high school had old cars, so it was simply transportation. Only a few had newer 80's stuff. That said, that 2003 burb is 22 years old, crazy how time flies.

It's hard for me to grasp that too. I graduated HS in '07 right when these were still new and they were what everybody wanted. 2 of my buddies that were brothers bought used '01 and '02s in around '06/07, financed them, and they were the coolest guys around to have such a new Z71 truck.

I had an '87 IROC Camaro in HS and it was considered an OLD car then, but not a classic. These trucks first came out 26yrs ago in '99, my '05 daily is 20yrs old and with the truck market being so hot, these are gonna be the next big thing

I first plugged in 2007 Yukon, and since I am not well versed on these, I don't know the body styles until I see a photo, but then I still may not know the year. Since the internet is always displaying the correct information and is completely trust worthy, I decided to go to KBB website for the information. I then re-read the thread to get reacquainted with the info that was shared. Being tempted by @ByrdDog 's offer, but not knowing exactly what was being offered, and needing to see what is out there, I clicked on cars for sale, but in the 2003-2006 year range, and found some good ones out there. KBB defaulted my zip code to about 6 hours away, so I adjusted it, and saw a beauty of a 2003 Burb. This is more tempting with it being local, but they are asking 22.5k which is way too high. Granted it only has 94k miles, so they only drive it about 4200 miles a year. Unfortunately there is no room on the property and nothing is ready to sell to make room.

But here is the local 2003 burb...

Plugged in all of the items in the ad to see what the value is, and it is much lower than their asking price, which I expected it to be.

I told my wife about @ByrdDog 's offer to sell his 2007 Yukon, and that it would be a trip to Amarillo, and also the 2003 Suburban I saw locally. She likes it but asked the hard question, "Which vehicle(s) is/are leaving to make room for the Suburban?" None yet.
Beautiful clean low miles snack wagon, but I want some of what that guy is smoking!
It’s worth close to double what the KBB upper end value is, but…
Maybe, just maybe if it was a super low miles 2500 8.1 4x4 with a quality lift kit and $5k stashed in the spare tire cubby it would be worth $20k plus.
But alas, GM also wasn’t serious about HD burbs, or they’d have ditched the 4L and figured out how to put an Alli in them.
In general yeah these GMT 800/900s are about bottomed out. In value unless pristine low miles, or a clean no rust, not sun cooked rig for sale in the rust belt.

I'd love to have a 2500 8.1/Ally quadrasteer 'burb

I don’t really love SUVs at all, but that or a Duraburb, same configuration, would be the one for sure.
Still waiting for one of the big 3 (not Chrysler lol since they haven’t had a true full size suv since the Ramcharger) to pop out a HD suv again.
While I understand the small market share for these, it’s been so long since the last of the 2500 Burbs and the Excursions rolled off the line, I think at least one mfg could profit pretty well with a run of new HD SUVs for a while. Most of the HD big SUVs are either completely ragged out or dead by now. Seems there’d be a high profit margin niche again. No fckin way it’s that hard to drop a 1/2 ton body onto a HD chassis. Cheap and easy R &D to get one off the end of the assembly line imo.

If one has a pull behind camper, enough money for a new truck and more than 2 kids, a 3/4ton suv just screams “buy me!”

We have an 04 sub that has 347k on it now. Just want to see 350k, then I don't know what.
5.3L, 4L60e, 2wd 1500. Looks pretty hooptie now. I'm 2nd owner. Bought from my brother for $1.

I also may have heard, a question like this..
This is why you need property…just hide some stuff back in the trees long enough for the wife to recalibrate her mind to the new number of vehicles.

I think it’ll need another decade to be considered a classic. At least in places where cars don’t rust out. It’s hard for me to consider pretty much anything with as much plastic as 90s+ vehicles have as classics. Though I love the relative simplicity of 90s-early 2000s interiors and they are a great balance of mechanical simplicity and modern fuel/timing management.

Low mileage examples are out there on early 2000s vehicles, but the owner of that burb will be hard pressed to find the right buyer at that price.

If I were to make an offer I'd tell them 10k, not a penny more, as the KBB high is lower than that. They are definitely emotionally attached to it or looking a for a sucker with more money than brains.

Idk where you live, guessing Cali? But I believe that $10k won’t get you something that clean/low miles. Even up here in the land of clean old cars.
A year ago I got $4k for a ragged out, crashed but drove straight (frame bent) Tahoe with 150k. Got $8k for a real clean gmt 800 Tahoe with 130k on it. But that was during Covid.
That said burbs are cheaper than Tahoes. And Tahoes are cheaper than pickups apples to apples.
Like suqarebodys, a burb is worth around half of a comparable pickup.
Now I’m lieing about values maybe.
Quick 30sec CL search showed this beauty (maybe).

Also car prices (and anything with wheels and/or an engine really) have been dropping from the stupid Covid prices that peaked in 21-22. New old inventory has been increasing for the last couple years.

Agreed on the 10k offer, but there is no way I'd pay 22.5k for it when KBB high is 8400. And when there are plenty of decent ones out there for fair market price, not emotionally attached price. The one you show is a good one. I'm guessing the 6.0 is the 400sb in vortec clothing.

I'm kinda the same way, SUVs don't really do it for me but when I was married and had 2 kids (hers from a previous), I sold my pickup to get out of the payment and bought a cheap Tahoe. That one got totaled a few months later and then I bought an '04 Yukon. I gotta tell ya, that to this day is still one of my favorite vehicles I've owned. 5.3/4L60/3.42 (needed 4.10s and it woulda been perfect), I did a 4/4 drop with 2" spindles/drop keys/springs in the back, adjustable panhard bar, Belltech sway bars, free travel mod, big brake upgrade from the '05-up trucks on the front, it already had dual pistons in the back, retrofitted Denali headlights, GMT900 20s with 265/50/20 Toyos, small sound system and tint. It was a loaded LT3 with a sunroof, man I loved that thing. It rode like a Cadillac but would corner great for a heavy boat. It was nice having a covered cargo area too, I worked it pretty hard pretty often. Traded it to a buddy and he still has it, still loves it.
