When we try to pop the rear glass with the blazer turned off the actuator will not pop the glass. He has to start it before the button will pop the glass. With it turned off, we can here it attempt to release the glass.

Anyhoot, any idea where we can find a new one? When I search we’re only finding stuff for full size blazers and/or stuff for the 2nd gen.

Here’s a pic of the part. It’s the cylinder deal with the call cable

Have you tried the dealer? It's a long shot, but there's a chance that one is still sitting on a shelf somewhere. Otherwise it's probably a junkyard thing.

So, when the truck is running, there is more voltage. That could crutch a weak solenoid. But, it's also possible that it's non-ingnition power source has an issue. I'd try putting a good and powerful battery charger on it while you operate the electric release with the ignition off. Or maybe just jumper cables to another running vehicle if you don't have a good charger. If that gets it to operate, then the solenoid is likely just weak. Or possibly a poor ground connection. But if it still doesn't operate with the ignition off, I'd lean more towards an electrical issue.

Working on rebuilding the front end this weekend. I’d like to replace the axle seal on the driver side (pictured). Does this inner flanged pull out like a front wheel drive axle would or ????

Last weekend, we put in a full exhaust on the blazer. Ditched the cat (for now) and put in a Black Widow muffler. I don't remember which version at this point. It's a muffler I'd originally bought for my '99 Tahoe probably 7 years back or so and I told my son he could have it just to see what it sounded like as he wasn't sure what he wanted. He just knew he wanted something with more rumble. Being just a 4.3 V6 it actually sounds decent. He also wanted a dual exhaust set up but there is limited space in this blazers, especially being a 4x4 rig.

Apologies for not getting any "in progress" pics. We were too focused on working and I just didn't get pics taken. With that said, my oldest has been wanting to learn to weld so he welded up most of this exhaust after just some breif pointers. He did good, overall, for just jumping in and getting after it :waytogo:

Anyhoot, we got this universal kit of pipes to work with....

I was pretty impressed with the kit and gave us a ton of flexibility. It helped us to make this drop as we moved away from where the Cat should sit and get over the torsion bar crossmember
