Hey all! New here and looking for some guidance. I recently picked up an ‘82 Chevy C10 short bed setup for a single saddle tank.

The truck has a 454 swap that I’m currently rebuilding for ease of mind and the tank was already out of the truck. There is a local guy with a 30gal Suburban/Blazer tank for sale and I am curious what exactly I need to do run this on my rig for the extra fuel capacity. I would like to stay carb and mechanical for the complete classic feel.

She’s going to need a lot of work to be road ready but I’m starting with engine and fuel so any help would be awesome. Thanks!

It's the same fuel setup basically other than location and size.

Need to add a crossmember or two for the tank and need some tank straps. Then you have to decide where you want the filler neck.

Hinged tail light, on the bed floor, in the rear wheel well. Or patch in a fuel filler door from a donor.

Could maybe make behind the license plate work or mount a jerry can in the bed and put the filler neck in there.
