OEM Tripods ??

Im working w/a friend on restoring couple of '79 stepsides.
We are looking for used & fairly clean Tripod Mirrors.
Can U guys helps us out ?

Here is the one piece,I`m going to have todo some scrounging and find the brace for this.Seems to be gone,missing,dont know,I`ll find it in a day or two.

Yes ... these are the ones.

They look great on your truck. Are they reproduction !?

There was a guy here who was talking about replacing them with a newer design .. Can't find that thread !!

Authentic GM mirrors. Reproduction companies don't make them in the fully enclosed stainless variety. Like I said, I looked for over two years trying to find a nice set. Found a lot of overpriced junk out there. I will keep my eyes open for you.

There are reproduction ones out there, but I would not recommend them. My dad had put a reproduction one on. It was made of plastic, vibrated like crazy, and whistled in the wind because the mounting point was exposed.

I would actually recommend switching to the dumbo mirrors. I know you can get those easier, both GM and reproductions. Just a thought.

Painted white with some rusty "Patina." I will be looking for that as I move around the garage,I know it is either in the garage or in the back of the pickup,buried unner a foooot or so of snow,LOL
