Today I...

cleaned the throttle body with TB cleaner
cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner
threw in seafoam in the gas tank after filling up for good measure

we will see if this fixes it or not. If not, I may try a new ignition module or dropping it off at a garage. If worse comes to worse I guess I could always look into getting a square to DD :) maybe Mr Clean still has his SWB for sale :D

Hopefully it works out.....Chasing down problems in newer vehicles are always such a PITA...too many sensors and crap....Yet another reason I'm growing to love my '87 more and more.....:)

Man I wish stuff in a can fixed cars like advertised. I really like the "head gasket repair" in a bottle, i want someone to explain how that would work.

Any update on the car?

So far it's doing great. I will know more as the week goes along, though. If I go the week without the issue resurfacing I'll feel pretty confident:)

or the stuff that quiets noisy rod knocks. LMAO That head gasket repair stuff is sorta like Bars Leak I believe. It supposed to clog up anything as its trying to leave the cooling jackets etc. I tend to think it probably can clog up parts of the radiator too. I wouldn't use it. For small leaks, I have used Allumaseal before. The silver powder stuff, and it seems to work ok for small leaks, and its fine enough I'd doubt it would clog a radiator. I fixed a heater core once using Allumaseal and it held for as long as I can remember and still holding when I sold the truck.

I used that ******** powder stuff on a 96 Dodge Dakota I used to drive after the new water pump I put on started leaking because of a casting imperfection and it completely ****** up everything in my cooling system. i thought i could just use it as a temporary fix but ended up being huge problems later.

By the way, it's been over a week now and the car is running great now. It looks like the TB cleaner and MAF cleaner did the trick. I have not had the symptoms reoccur since I did the cleaning and it was happening a couple times a day previously! It even feels like it has a little more get up and go now, too.

Thanks to everyone for the advice on this Non-Square Body! :) It's much appreciated.
