New truck and vin question

Hey guys picked up a new truck 1985 Chevy siverado k10 4x4 long bed truck needs very little tlc.

Okay here my question my trucks 4wd and it has a 2wd vin truck has never had a cab swap the bed cab noes and every thing is all the same blue as the rest of the truck. never been painted in its life the every thing is factory.

what could have happen?

It could have seen a frame swap at some point. How do you know the paint is all original?

i pealed it off and its all the tacky 1985 blue

Maybe they swapped the vin tag.

1987 was the first year for the TBI, period.

There is a frame VIN, I've been told it's on top of the passenger side frame rail between where the seat is bolted to the cab - for reference - and can be seen with a mirror if the cab is still bolted on. What are the first 6 of the VIN?

Is the RPO sticker still inside the glove box?

That may help clear things up. It should show the VIN and any options as supplied.
