Hey I have a 1988 K5 blazer 350 4spd (granny tranny) that I bought from my uncle about a year ago, and I want to lift it a bit anywhere from 2 to 4"'s of lift. Right now I has 33' 12.5 BFG's, and I don't really want to go bigger because I don't wanna loose gas mileage. I was thinking to get a 2" lift I could do longer shackles and a small block in the back or do a 4" lift but I really don't want to spend a lot on the lift... If anybody could give me some feedback I'm defiantly open for suggestions.

Welcome to the site lets see some pics of the beast I had an 80 k5 with a 4 inch lift on 35x12.5 kumhos was carbed and wasn't too bad on fuel, I'd say go the 2 inch if you rly wanna keep the 33's and not look awkward

Cheapest shocks for 4" lift are around $50 a piece, and a 4" raised steering arm for your drag link can run around $60 or so new, people forget that expense sometimes. If I were you I would bite the bullet for some nice riding front springs like Syjacker Softrides, or Superlift, the Rough country springs are just that, ROUGH. The springs should have a nice 2-way taper on each spring, not a boxy square cut end. Out back I would forget about a block and go fo the shackle flip kit. You cut the bracket off the frame for your rear spring shackle and bolt on a new bracket that essentially puts the shackle below the frame, instead of beside it, gaining 4" and improving driveline angle, and not subjected to axlewrap issues like a block. If you have an automatic trans axlewrap may not be so bad. But that's the better way to go. You could probably save $200 or so buying a cheaper all-in-one kit with front springs, rear blocks, all u-bolts, and shocks but it will ride like a trampoline.

To post pics click "Manage attachments" below where you type your post and upload them there. Then click the link for the pic, copy the url, click the little picture thing above where you type your post and paste the url there. Here's a pic of my K10 on 4" lift/33s, if you quote the post you'll see what it should look like...

2" lift might put the tire too far in the fenderwell, if you take it offroad you might rub. 4" gives you a little overhead to go with 35s down the road if you want.

If I were you I'd go with a 4" lift. Cause when you figure out that the 2" lift is too small then you will be spending more money to get the 4" anyway. Saves you money in the long run.

So here she is, as you can see the back is a little low.. only by 3/4". I still think ill stick to a 2' because for now i really wanna stick to the 33's and just have a little lift. Has anybody used front shackles for a lift before?? there's some out there that'll lift only 1" 1/2 which im fine with and then get the proper sized block in the back.

Which is lower? driver's side or passenger side? Maybe a big ole boy owned it before you if the driver's side is lower, or maybe a PO had a big ole woman which would be why the passenger side is lower.

Haha well my uncle owned it for 95% of its life previous to me, and him and my aunt are not big for sure, so not sure why it would be off?? its lower on the drivers side, its not a real big deal to me but since i just measured it kind made me curious why

Maybe where he parked it every day was a little off-level, or if he was the only occupant for the time he drove it, even not being big the springs may have just worn that way. I think just about all trucks are a little off from side to side but I never let it bug me, it would have to be off by a lot to make me go to extremes to fix it.

So i ordered ord shackle flip 2.5" for the rear and i ordered 1 5/8 shackle lift in the front so now the back will be a hair higher which i want, and if i need any adjustments on anything i will get zero springs. Really looking forward to putting them in next weekend and seeing how it looks
