Ole reliable being reliable as always. I’ve had a few lightbulbs go off in my head of mods that I’ve started to do/I’d like to do.

1. Get my damn aux. cluster built and installed:

I’m not gonna replicate the 9C1 location because I don’t want to mutiliate the dash and have to move things around which means mutiliating the dash even more. I need to tap into my dash lighting circuit, and I’d like to have easy access to my instrument harness to tap into the idiot light wires or to the firewall for organic wiring.

I’m thinking I can use the ash tray as a mount (already made a template for the enclosure pieces), use the ashtray light wiring for my two instrument bulbs, and still have use of the ashtray for storage. It would have to have holes drilled in it for wires to pass through and flush screws for the mounting, but an ash tray is smaller and vastly more replaceable than a dash panel.

My only issues are will the ashtray want to partially slide out after becoming front-heavy, and what is the most reasonable material. I like ABS plastic, but it’s to thin for screws to go in so is wood the best alternative... I could always mount in the actual hole, but I like the idea of having part of the work done for me.

2. Sequential turn signals/brake lights:

The mod speaks for itself. I’m assuming the turn signal motor that old Mercs had was kind of like a breaker point thingy that would be difficult to replicate and probably too primitive to be reliable. The easiest way would probably to tee into the rear harness as it passes through the trunk into the rear cap. I’d be open to building my own, but I don’t really know where to start.

3. I want a spotlight:

I think they look pretty badass. Need I say more?

4. Dog Dish caps (maybe)

Overall, I think it’ll transition to something resembling a 9C1, but I’m hesitant on the wheels. I like the spokes, and I may end up sticking with them for the long haul. We’ll see.

Good idea. That would help give it a meaner look.
I like the dog dish idea... a wider set of steelies with fat white letter tires and dog dishes, with the tinted windows and spot light and sequential tails...:naughty::hump:

That’s pretty nice. I really like those rally wheels they’re probably my favorite for GM cars in general, but I can’t wrap my head around them being on a sedan. Maybe it’s a taste acquired with age, but I like the police look on these. And yeah, the white letters do have to show to complete the look. I’ll have to upgrade from my Hankook Optimos, though.

While I’m not married to the dog dish idea 100%, I definitely want something that looks 100% chrome and that’s a solid cap for a filled in look, if you will.

That's not what I would consider a Donk.

I'd consider this a Donk though.

It’s bad enough, but you’ve got it lifted past the skirted rear, and it looks so much worse.

Wow that's ******* hideous! Think I'll go rinse my eyes with bleach now.

Let me run some other ideas by you.

So, are these for real? Does anyone get paid for the advertising or are these "company " cars?

I believe they're just theme based on something the owner likes. If you looked around for any product, movie, tv, video game, store....there's a donk for that.

The donk'n donuts pic is from motortrend.

I hope these people don't reproduce. Lol

What's a donk? First I've heard of it.
