I'm a fan of the early squarebodies. I'd say go for the 77' as it's rare to see that era. Those hubcaps threw me off made me think its a k20.

Go with the '87. As much as I absolutely love the styling of the pre-80s trucks, the 87 sounds like a much better rig overall. You can always swap the front clip down the road if you want, not that hard.

87 pros:
-TBI (better mileage and more power stock than the carbed version, very reliable)
-454 (enough said)
-3/4 ton (better towing capacity, stronger frame, beefier suspension and steering parts etc)
-3rd row (I never use mine but it's nice to have the option and it sounds like you like the idea)
-Rear A/C (my '87 is front only and even way up here in NH it can't keep up with the heat generated from the sun beating down on the 47 linear feet of glass on a suburban, in FLA you might as well not even have A/C in a 'burb if it's not also rear A/C)
-Bigger mirrors
-Silverado trim package
-Nicer interior

87 cons:
-not as pretty as the 77

77 pros:
- In general the roundeye trucks are beautiful in comparison to the later ones, especially '85+
-On this particular example, I personally like the color scheme and wheels better.

77 cons:
-literally everything else. Much less power, lower trim level, 1/2 ton isn't great for truck stuff, not having rear A/C in Florida would probably kill you in the summer, and you said this truck has more rust than the '87

Oh I didn't read through the whole thread before posting. That 77 still looks like a really nice truck, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

If you don't need 4x4, I would be all over that '77. The '87 is going to be better all around, but a round eye in that good of condition is a rarity, and I am a lover of round eyes.

Not that it matters and I’m sure the 77 has been repainted. But I’m pretty certain all 77s had the 1 year only yellow stripe trim. So the trim on that is not original or it’s not actually a 77. Either way it’s a super nice looking burb!

It hasn't been repainted. Still has the gold trim on it. This thing just wasn't driven much. Has 14 year old tires that look brand new. Haha.

Thanks. Very excited to get her home. Been slowly getting older and older burbs over the last few years. I think this is the landing spot for me. Love that it is a 77 with the special molding. Love that it is carb and not computer driven at all. And going to an older generation sacrifices a door, and I want 4 doors. So I am thinking this one will be in the family for a long while.

From looking at other models online and people selling the factory cruise on eBay, it looks like that is all stock to me. I will have to check it out when I get there.

I happen to have just looked under the hood of an all original 77 3/4 ton 350 truck with factory cruise and I recall seeing 2 different doohickeys like that on the fender well.
