Hey guys. Long time Chevy Suburban guy here. Been moving older and older. Right now have a great 99 GMT400 that I love, but think it is time to go older again. So I am looking at 2 different ones and would love advice on what is better, thoughts on them, and what to look for.

1. 1987 R20 2500 Suburban with the 454

2. 1977 C10 1500 Suburban with 5.7

I know the 87 is TBI and the 77 is carb. I am cool with both. Living in Florida, cold weather starting isn't really an issue for me. The 87 is clean pretty much everywhere and has the 3rd row and rear air. The 77 has a few normal body rust areas, but definitely not cancer. Frame is clean. Doesn't have the 3rd row or rear air.

Both are in great looking shape. I like the 3rd row and rear air, but man that 77 body style just looks so good. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Sorry, they are both suburbans. Just the 77 is the c10 version. It is the scottsdale model. Definitely gonna get a suburban. Just trying to decide between these two.

A okay. Well in that case id go 87 defiantly.
Big block, 4wd, 3/4 ton, better condition (it sounds), and i personally like the 80s style just a little better. Everythinh is jus one step better, lol..
2wd burbs are cool, buti think they should be 4x4.

But thats just me..

I get it. But unless I am mudding, there isn't a whole lot of need in Florida for me to have it. If I still lived out west I would.
Don't they have sandy beaches in Florida?

I think we deserve some pics to help you decide...

Welcome from Ohio. I'd go the 77.

If the 77 has air, that’s the one I’d go with. In Florida and without AC has been tough for me in my round eye square.

The 77 has air.....just front air. Not rear air.

I say the '87 for 3 reasons. Fuel mileage will only differ by about 1-2mpg so I'd rather have the big block torque, it sounds like it's cleaner than the '77 and I'm pretty dang sure I've looked at that '87 before and kick myself for not buying it haha
