Depends on what the shop charges for them.

And also depends on what your time is worth.

I feel kind of obligated to do my own repair work since - due to the fact that I am "retired" - my time is worth $0 per hour.

If however you are for example, a high powered attorney that can charge $500 per hour - sub it out.

All kidding aside, there are good reasons to do your own work. Probably most valuable is that over time, you become intimately familiar with your own truck.

And you can be sure that the job was done right. And while under the truck you may spot an impending problem that a muffler shop would not even recognize.

Yeah yeah - I think the sign says something like:

"You wouldn't bring your own steaks to a restaurant and ask the chef to cook them - so don't bring your parts in here and ask us to install them!"

Yeah, but the shop that stays in business for a long time says "Yes Sir" Which most of the time, is the case.

Hope that's not one of those ricer fart cans :smoke2:. But I have been wondering if they'd sound better on a true dual v8.

If you can weld, and have a way to roll sheets. I'd build my own muffler and instead of going to a chain shop. I'd hit the real mom and pop type shops there's a reason they've been in business so long.
