Not directly Square Body related but I thought that I would find some information here (Admin please move if posted in the wrong area)

The '79 Camaro project that I drug home has a "Monster" brand reman TH350 installed from the previous owner. Does anyone here have any knowledge of the company or their products? The trans looks to be a relatively fresh install but I have no way of verifying for sure.

This is what I've found on their website concerning this transmission

I've read plenty of horror stories when i researched these.

That's all i know of them.

Thats what I have always heard, about all of their products, GM transmissions, Dodge transmissions, etc.

The $3k asking price for a TH350 is rather impressive, considering how simple of a transmission they are.

Which is what kind of surprises me with the previous owner/owners of this thing. $$$$ on a questionable brand transmission and then top the engine off with an eBay knockoff intake manifold instead of spending on the actual name brand. But, they dropped nearly a grand on a Painless wiring system. Just doesn't make sense to me. But oh well, I'll get it sorted out.

3k for a rebuilt automatic trans with a shift kit and a 600 dollar core. I could go like a block down the street and buy a Rossler TH400 for that or one of their powerglides for half as much lol

I did spend too much for my glide I could have just gone down to their shop and bought one, but I'd never done one before so I bought the tools did the research and built my own just so I could do it myself in the future, money well spent for the experience.

Wonder if it was a situation of the project started off with a decent budget, then it dried up for whatever reason.
