WOW...the calipers I've gotten from O'Reilly's for my trucks had a gray paint on them, I don't think it's just clear over bare steel. Cause as humid as Houston is, that would be rusty in 15 minutes...

I believe Napa has been selling the black coated calipers for a while. Haven't really kept track.

Other stores seem to be a mixed bag on coating types.

Doing another one right now on one of my trucks. Same finish from NAPA in this one also.

Boring but time consuming day today. One of the previous owners installed a fairly nice exhaust system. Unfortunately it was hitting the rear brake lines when the suspension is loaded. Spent a bunch of time bending, rebending, brackets and lines to make it clear for now trying to reuse as much as I can. I'll eventually replace everything i think. But, at least we have a little clearance.

Also ordered new adjuster kits for the rear brakes from NAPA. Got the driver's side finished up this afternoon.

Now that we have everything where we want it to be, starting replacement of all the hard lines. These are from "The Stop Shop" through Summit.

That's a shame, as it’s already been replaced. If it was still working, I'd clean it up and continue on with it.

For my amateur radio friends, you know that my daughter and I had to stop in here while we were at Summit.

I put a Speedway motors cowl hood on my '78 Camaro and the gaping drove me nuts. It fit pretty good just required a lot of tweaking. I took the corner-to-corner X measurements of the original hood and called them to try and get one as close to the original measurements and they did their best, no complaints.
