Just curious to see how some of you guys with K5 DD's on 35's or bigger carry your spare and equipment to change it.

I guess there are two schools of thought here:
1) Changing a 35 or bigger on the side of the road is too much, call a tow.
2) Carry the spare and change it.

Honestly, I got tired of looking at the 35" spare in my rearview mirror and took it out. Been trying to figure out a way to reasonabley carry a FS spare and Hi-Lift.

Keep it where it was?

Roof rack/carrier is out, too high.

So is one of those high-speed tubular all in one bumper/tire carrier/diaper changing stations.

Carried my 37" spare in my 3/4T with this.....
I would remove the rear seat and mount it inside the cab. Never use the rear seat anyway.

I like this idea best, but WTF they're like $700.... sorry big pic, was only one I could find on a K series. And I believe the guy lives in NC and is entertaining offers...sweet rig!

I like that mount on the burb, personally I wouldn't want to lose the back seat in a K5 if I owned one, and I really want to own one. I have so many buddies who would really want to ride with me when we go 4wheelin but riding in the back of a mud truck with tires that stick out past the body is not something they want to do lol. It's beginning to look like with a K5 you need a chase vehicle to carry your spare lol like a mobile pit crew.

Chase vehicle sounds like a damn good idea. Some of those CVs ive seen being used, like in the Baja 1000, have got to be pushing $75K.

$700 for that spare tires carrier set up? :bs: I'm sure you can get that rigged up for about 1/4 of that. I do like it though. That oughta be your next plan and mod to yours.

That's a Beatiful Burb. Only one other I can think of I like as well and actually maybe a hair better since his has gray interior.

Skysurfers Burb, I'd rock it. Only thing I would like different but would probably live with it, since there are pros and cons, is lose the bench and put in buckets. He has some cool adders on that truck too.
