Hi All,
Joined a few days ago. Im 53, I am a mechanic and have my own business in the UK specialising in classic American car transmissions. Your classic cars are very popular over hear and there is plenty to keep me busy. I have a 79 C10 that I bought back in Oct last year. It was in a poor state of repair with a sluggish L6 250 and manual steering. I have completely rebuilt the entire front end and just got it back together. I have fitted a 350 and 700r4 both of which I built. Also converted to power steering which is so much nicer! I made my own custom dual exhaust which sounds awsome coming out in front of the rear wheels. I am now tackling the interior which was in a real bad way and very basic. Im replacing all the usual trim stuff and fitting a digital dash kit and probably some other modern touches like Sat nav/MP3.
I'm no stranger to American cars have prevously done a full body off resto on a 67 TBird, have an 82 Corvette which is 3/4 through a body off resto but Im bored with it at the moment as it dragged on too many years. Of course I work with American cars so very familiar with V8's. Previously an electrician/telecomms engineers so plenty of knowledge to tap into. I have created an album which I am slowly adding pictures to.
