I cannot find a serial number anywhere the manual says, most likely its all just too grimey and i’ve not cleaned it well enough.

One website says you can go off oil pan shape & bolt pattern which suggests its a TH350.

Before i order bits if anyone could confirm.

Thanks.

Yep, 350.
TransGo makes a fantastic shift kit for under $100.

On a scale of 0-10 with 10 being very difficult, I would say it's a 4 or 5.

Excellent, thanks chaps.

Next question then, is the 139 tooth flex plate the correct one?

It is a 6.2 diesel.

No.
Gaskets, spool springs,
Plates and steel check balls instead of the rubber ones.
Even govenor springs and "O" ring.
And the instructions are very straight forward..

Watch some YouTube videos. Get a small tub of Vasoline, put it in the fridge before starting the valve body install. You will use the vasoline to “glue” the check balls in place. DO NOT use wheel bearing grease, it won’t dissolve in ATF. Work slowly, cleanly, don’t force anything.

The biggest hassle is fighting gravity. Use the vasoline to hold things in position.

Are you asking about transmission internals or suspension parts? Link arms and bushings would be suspension (control arms, their bushings, sway bar and links, etc).

If you're asking about transmission internals, at least those relevant to shift kits, you have the valve body, with valves, springs, plugs, an accumulator piston and spring for third gear, separator plate, gaskets and so forth.

I was thinking of the actual external mechanism. All the little rods that operate the gearbox.
