ignition switch help

help please... anybody know if the rod that works the ignition switch is different length for auto or straight drive. the switch on the old column and the new column are also reversed.

What is straight drive ?
I suspect you are looking at a tilt versus nontilt switch , and presumably different columns, too.

Based on that, I would say yes , the rods are different .

Some speculation at this point, though .

I bought one for my 87 manual trans and then realized the PO had replaced the column with one from a auto, I was able to bend the tabs and reuse my old mount to get it swapped around with the new switch. There is some springs and ball bearings but it wont blow across the room
