Yeah, it’s gonna ride like a lawn tractor.
New shocks helped a little, not making it softer but more controlled rebound I suppose.
Which brings up another point, @mxer147, weight under the hood.
I have a big block with AC and before I ever jacked the truck up (I never jacked up the front end by the frame until I measured for shocks last fall), I would have sworn there wasn’t much dead static load sag in the springs. But it was easily 2+” of sag. Maybe 3”.
If you have a small block no AC and stiff lift springs your truck may sit an inch or so higher than mine.

I've always loved the pull truck look. But pull trucks have big sidewalls! No 24's and rubber bands!

My 2" Rough Country suspension lift. Rides very smooth, not stiff at all. Maybe the 4' and above ride stiff, due to more arch in the leaf springs?

Hey everyone. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on. My question is I’m going with an 8” lift. But I want the best ride quality possible. I’m not gonna link it. Leafs are fine. I’m gonna do the Fox shocks, ORD greaseable bushings, and the Davis Off-road trac bar setup with crossover. ORD custom springs only go to 7”. If the ORD ones ride as well as they claim it may be the direction I go and I’ll work out the math later. BDS seems to have a nice leaf and good kit. Multi rate leafs. If anyone has any experience with any of the higher end lift kits that provide a nice ride quality please let me know. I know these trucks ride like bricks lol. I’m just trying to make my daily as comfortable as possible.

Let us know how that works out. Sounds like you already have a plan in mind. You're right though, it's a bit tough to get a nice ride with 8in lift and I'm sure it'll be big tires too.

38” nitto ridge grapplers. A couple companies have “soft” suspension. Tuff country ez ride. Skyjacker softride. I’m really curious about the BDS lift. If anyone out there can give some insight on the different lift kits ride quality, specifically 8”, I’d appreciate it.

How did you adjust the front bumper to make up for the 1" difference?

I didn't have to adjust anything. The lower lip of the grille sits just below the bumper, honestly does look too bad.

Nice, I have a ORD 1" kit but didn't install it. I was worried about that. We'll see maybe in the future.
