That's a good thing, right?

This is making me crazy. Er. Crazy-er trying to remember a song!

think it's in the intro to a song that some guy says
"Yo that **** is dope!"
Other guy says
" Dope? Nobody says dope no more man." maybe it's any more?

:mad: oh ****. What's that song?
You set off the jukebox Mike.

Maybe it's in a movie but I don't think so... The jukebox is going mad I tell you. Quite mad really.

Anybody know it?

Anybody?

Had the old girl to the track and ran 15.90 at 85 mph. Now you might not think that is too great but considering it’s a 1981 and the short block and trans have never been out of the truck. It did have a basic valve job 30 years ago. Still stock manifold and Qjet. Cam, headers and gear change to 3.73 with a true lock.

I got O'l Yeller up to 90 once, then she melted a piston.

Well, that's the problem kid. You're too young for any advice from good ol' Doc Brown. 87 was the safe speed, You went 3 mph too fast. Because once that sucker hits 88 miles an hour, you're gonna see some serious ****!

Does 80-90 just fine. On longer trips on the interstate I've had it going 105 going downhill just cuz I was ready to get home.....and I think the pcm has it limited at 105. Floated just fine :)

According to my Dragy mine averages around 13.90 @ 96mph in the 1/4 but thats blowing the tires off through 2nd. Ive seen a 13.37 @ 101 out of it once on a prepped track. Mind you Im only running a 235 bfg tire. Hoping some proper compound 295s will get me into the low 13s. anything lower and ill need suspension work I think. I have the driveline to run high/mid 12s but not the chassis.

Wow! Engine specs, trans, gearing?

I run a 327 .030 over 445 HP, small journal rods, 480/480 lift 240 @.050 solid flat tappet, 1.5 roller rockers, 462 2.02 fuelie heads, Moroso pan with a windage tray, Performer RPM intake, 750 Holley, locked out HEI. Turbo 350 trans, 2 piece drive shaft. 12 bolt truck rear end with 5.13 gears. 1979 long bed big 10. I think it might run 11.90s in Houston.

@WesN,

I would seriously consider flushing your fuel system out. How did a piece of "gasket" get in the fuel pump? Regardless, chunk that fuel pump, change that short piece of rubber hose from the metal fuel line that comes out from the frame and turns towards the fuel pump, clean the metal fuel line out from the pump to the carb., and change the fuel filter out in the carb. Is that how yours is set up? You are running what carb.? A Carter 4 bbl. similar to a Q-Jet? Does it have the sintered "rock" filter on the side? Get a new one. That's all it would take is a little piece of that at WOT, lean the carb out, and burn a hole in a piston. The engine would blow. I wouldn't care if I had to go all the way to the tank and clean everything forward including the carb.

@Mark Jones,

Uooo Weeee! Mark I would be disappointed if it didn't. 5.13???? DANG!! Are you already in fourth at 60 ft.? That's the tire turns 5.13 times for each 1 turn of the drive shaft!!! Or do I have it backwards? That sounds like me. I've got all this motor and never considered running it to find out what it would do.
