Just put a hybrid motor out of a Prius in the k1500. you'd get good mileage then!

honestly, Prius's dont even get the best gas milage to justify one.... All of them around here get 38-40 average. And heres my cavalier that was averaging 41-42.

Didn't have the funds to put into it, and needed the funds out of it. It wasn't what I wanted to do Dawg. It's what I had to do.

Hybrids aren't great on the highway, city is where they do well. They will still be averaging in the 40s in city while your Cavalier won't even be close.

:Big Laugh:I've been a big fan of the older VW TDIs, but they often go for a pretty penny though (and avoid the automatics!). I've put on 6,400 miles in the last month on my 2000 Golf and my worst tank has been 46.1 I've had 2 over 50mpg and both were at interstate speeds (75mph).

The car started out as just basic transportation as the $$ in gas I was saving then paid for the car payment, tags and insurance. Now I have a full H&R suspension on it, larger injectors and a stage 1.5 tune on it with EGR delete. That mod bug gets me every time.

Me too. The older TDI's, not the new ones. I think it's like the 98-02's somewhere in there. Those will get 50-52 mpg highway and 45 city all day long. I've had 2 buds that had them and drove the damn wheels off of them, and put more wheels back on. Maintained, you can get 500,000 out of the motors. I've shopped around but even one with over 200,000 miles they still go for $7000-$9000 depending on condition.

I woudln't mind a full size GM car either so long as it has a 3.8 and not a 60 degree 3.1 or 3.4 V6. Like 01-03 Implala, Gprix, Regal etc. You can still get 25 city, 30 hwy in one of those.

Olds Eighty Eight, Pontiac Bonerville, Buick LeSabre and Park Avenues are awesome. The 3800s are rock solid and most of the time they have soft ride suspensions and are easy to get in and out of even on bad days. Plus they all have big ass trunks to haul stuff in. My mom brought me the set of wheels I needed for my square all in a 2001 Cavalier coupe with a 5 speed. My right leg doesn't like low seats most of the time and these last few days haven't been so great, but thats why I like my Trailblazer.

That's another reason I decided against this Honda, I had trouble getting in and out of my bros 89 Accord. Damn things are to low to the ground. The seats are low too. I didn't have near the problem getting in and out of my Yota Rolla. That's the car I wish I had kept. And even though it was Yota it was made in USA which kinda helped my ego just a little cuz I really hate supporting over seas companies.
