Just to add my recent experience replacing both front brake hoses.
It was no fun. The engineers that designed the placement should have been fired. I ended up removing the sheet metal nut (not a fun job itself) from the rubber hose where it attaches to the frame and pulled the metal line through toward the wheel. I was then able to somewhat get a comfortable line of attack to the fitting.
Per my previous post about a good brake line wrench. I started off with an off brand one from Advance Auto and quickly lost faith so I ended up borrowing a Snap-On wrench from a friend and my faith was quickly restored but not without a liberal spray of PB Blaster beforehand.
In the end I only had a couple places on my hand bleed but it was definitely worth it.

Be sure to inspect all your brake line for rust like this.
Believe it or not this looked ok from the top looking down at it.
