Hi guys,

I have come across a small problem.
When I was about to replace the front brake hoses on my truck I realized the driver side did not fit and I am struggelig to find one that does.

The passenger side did fit and had the correct «not-square» adapter to the caliper.

I checked my local us car parts vendors in Norway, but no one could source this part. Checked classic parts of USA and they don’t have drivers side at all. LMC does have but with no pictures I’m afraid it’s the wrong square type.
Anyone come across this before and know which part number I need?

First picture is the original hose and the one I bought from Amazon that does not fit. Second picture is the correct one according to my local dealers parts catalog for 13 inch front brakes, but still does not look correct.

That is a classic squarebody headache, especially being out in Norway. The issue is likely that your truck has the heavy-duty (JB7/JD7) brake package or a specific year-split offset. The square-block style you got from Amazon is the most common, but it won't seat right if your calipers require the angled or "not-square" notched fitting.
You should double-check your RPO codes in the glovebox for the brake setup. If LMC or local shops are striking out, try looking up part numbers for a C20 or a K20 of the same year; sometimes the 3/4-ton hoses have the specific offset you're seeing on your original. Worst case, you might need to swap to a more common caliper style that accepts the square blocks, but matching the hose to the JB-code is usually the way to go.

Thanks.
I need to check that. Maybe the calipers have to go. Anything you can see from this that point me in the right direction?

Thanks, but here the other end does not fit and is lacking the outside threads through the frame. I already bought and returned this one.

this is the one I got for my 1986 C2500 left front. (so if your 1985 is in European world years, the same as a north american spec 1986)

Raybestos BH36954 Professional Grade Hydraulic Brake Hose

I also replaced the master cylinder and the front brake left caliper.
I got a master cylinder that matches from Napa that remained period correct like it was from 1930,...and not plastic like it was from a 1992 Fiat),

the hose the master cylinder and the caliper were frozen from the truck sitting outside parked for several years. (I remember all that took more than a hour to bleed. all the old parts had a surface rust on them like cinnamon,

be very aware for picking parts, like these brakes the such should list that the part fits 3/4 ton and 1 ton.
(so C2500,K2500, C3500, K3500, ...and R series for the last of the heavy duty squares circa 1989, when the half tons had the new body)...

Thanks. But as you can see from my first picture it does not fit as it is not the same shape and also lacks the small «latch» on the bottom.

on my screen this has the head like an octagon like your original part, and not the square head like the one you bought, it also has the brass horseshoe shaped clip on the other end....

(someone with more knowledge will certainly pop up though... as all I got is the part # I bought from last year,...and glad I could get everything I wanted locally,...making sure to stay away from half ton parts,...= this one i did buy from amazon,...= as I was getting house things in the same box)

Yes, but my has a small «latch» not on the one you linked to.

Not the best picture, but tried to make a ring around it.

I had the same problem with my k2500 in Australia, in the finish my local brakes guru used the original bayonet and remade the brake lines to suit.

C6P is the heavy gvw and I believe bigger brakes ?
My K20 has the kind you can’t find.
Can get them here. I bought mine from some 4wd shop on line because I needed longer ones for a lifted truck.
I wonder are C K 30s same as the heavy 3/4 tons? Maybe search for C30 brake hose. ?
