Sorry, total newb status, but some of you know I inherited this truck last weekend and know little/nothing about it. After a new starter, battery and rebuilt carb (carter 9625) I got it started and am on to the drive train - need help idenitifying axels, t-case & trans (AT) and anything else you think it relevant under here. Badging suggest K35, but I pulled the VIN (TKL248) which says 3/4 ton. All I know is gramps swapped in the 454 and beafed things up, so I have no idea what was original or what was changed (considering I was unborn when this thing was built! LOL). So, here are a few pics, any help is appreciated, though I am sure this is pretty basic info for most of you. Thanks in advance.

Trans looks to be a TH400 with an aftermarket overdrive installed.

LOL. Yep, Gramps was a sheetmetal foreman. The front was a bolt on he reinforced with 3/8" plate and added the winch, the back is a custom bumper he built (has inside storage, etc with a SOLID steel hitch). He also built a second fuel tank and a stainless water tank in the rear fender so he could clean fish on the trail. LOL.

Thanks for the feedback and help sorting out the T-case, trans and diffs.

It has lock out hubs so it could have the part time kit installed in it, but yes the transfercase is a fulltime unless it was converted.

Thinking since the Gear Venders Under/Overdrive is on there, it must be converted, right?

What a beast of a truck! In light of everything you've told us about this truck I'd keep it just like it is. That is some cool stuff :)
