They look about the same as other lower tier headers. Would be better if they had ball & socket style collectors but the flange style is OK. I noticed they dont give the sizes of the primaries or collector. Collector looks like 3" but cant tell about the primaries. I'd give em a shot!

agreed, we got flowtech and have had em for a few years they work fine, same as the dynomax. Ours are actually the summit brand ones, but are reboxed flowtechs even had a flowtech part number on the box.

IMO if you want some cheapo black ones, they'll rust very quickly.

I'd buy the $160 ebay long tube stainless headers.

Then I would buy the summit header buddies, they are a ball end, so no gaskets needed, you also do not have to cut the header collector off to use them as intended. you just use them in place of the flat reducers the headers come with, then you use no lower gasket and IMO is the ONLY way to go. Same for stainless, IMO the ONLY way to go.

Cheap but functional. I'm fairly certain that's what's on my K1500. Bought it that way, so not 100% sure.

I've got them on my K5, same part # too. No complaints and they are holding up fine, but they've also never seen any salt in the winter.

ours have seen plenty of salt, they are ok just rusty, but they got that way fast without salt.

ours are the same part number as well from summit.

agaiun IMO get the ebay stainless ones, it's only like $20 more, no rust ever, and then use the summit header buddies, no gaskets down low ever.

well the reason i was looking at these headers in the first place is because i am planning on getting an exhaust system from flowtech and you can the header version of the kit and it fits these headers. would the kit fit the ebay headers too? and rust really is not a problem anyway around here because there is NO salt.
but those header buddies look like a good idea. i may get those

Just go with the flowtechs, they are not bad headers. You going with the turbo exhaust, or the ultra flow?

it is the superstreet dual exhaust kit for headers and i will use the raptor mufflers because they are cheap and have a straight through design

I would think they'd work just fine, you'e gonna have to cut and weld on the kit to use the header buddys.

those ebay stainless ones looked the exact same as the flowtechs, tubes and all.

as for salt, salt IS NOT what makes them rust, the hot and cold cycles makes them rust. They burn the paint off and then are nothing but bare metal. They'll last, we had rusty headers for over 10 years no problems.

I also suggest going with these first. They will last just fine even though they will get rusty when the paint burns off. I've never yet rusted thru a pair of cheap headers. Back in my race days, Black Jacks were the cheap econo header of choice and ran them for years. I say go with these first to make sure you even want to keep headers before spending the big bucks on stainless or coated headers.

i had the flowtechs on my truck, piece of advice is you get these headers do not use the bolts or gaskets that come in the kit. and you will have to bend the collector up some to clear ur x member

we used a set of 2wd dynomax on a 4x4 no issues.

as for the bolts and gaskets that come with them, I see ppl say it ALL the time

WHY???????

I have NEVER had a problem with the stock bolts or gaskets that come with them. They are great freakin gaskets, better then them mr. gasket paper ones. They come with alum core wrapped in paper, the core is just like manifold gaskets, and those work great for headers.
