Hey girls and guys. I posted little while back I had a set of shortys that weren't worth a crap. Well my manifolds started leaking. My brother in law sold me a set of long tubes. What do u think worth 50 bucks?

Hooker or Flowtec? Hooker is a little thicker I think. If they are very old at all, they could be starting to rot under that header wrap. The wrap will make them rust out much faster.

I had a pair of headers gave to me last year so I would ask him for the brother-in-law special discount, and try to get em for $10.

Hooker and I took the wrap off no rust at all, I figured there would be but there isn't he had them on a truck he had and he pulled the engine and they have been in his garage for about 2 years.

Don't bother with these headers or most other brands. Mine were rusted out in short order. Instead of buying another set I found some corvette cast iron exhaust manifolds on ebay for 5o bucks. They will last longer than me.

$50 is a good deal for those, you dont live in a rust state. I would remove all the paint and sand them a little. Buy some Eastwood stainless exhaust paint (black or silver) and paint them. They will last longer and look good.

To be honest I have always liked manifolds a lot better too. The main reason I bought them was to help him out plus I'm curious how the will do

Here lately I've been getting about 7 years out of my basic black headers on a daily driver... and in the rust belt too. Log style and ram's horn style manifolds will last for decades, but you sacrifice some power especially if using the log style manifolds. The "W" style manifolds used on most of these trucks suck and will crack.
