Hey dudes, some of you have seen this interior and seen how nice and original it is, and I love my factory radio tapedeck. But is there a way to maybe remote mount a new cd player somewhere, without hacking a hole in the dash and removing the facto player? I'd like to keep the factory player operational.

Maybe in the glovebox? Under the dash? I'd also like to maybe add a sub behind the seat and an amp. Just something for good sound.

Thanks for any help in advance!

1988-91s had the Din1.5 radios. You just need to get the brackets from one, measure everything, make your cuts and bolt it in. Get a matching cluster bezel too.

Din1.5...with Cd player? I'm not sure I want to replace anything in the cab with later model stuff, and I dang sure dont want to do any cutting, theres no way to remote mount a new cd player somewhere? Not a big fan of anything 88-98...

It's called secret audio, they show it all the time on speed channel, just for that very reason. So you don't cut up the dash in old vehicles. it aint cheap but if you don't want to cut I guess it's worth it. They can do a hidden cd changer, mp3, flash drive/jump drive thing as well.

I think the paddock sells them, but they show them alot on my classic car, but I'm almost 100 percent it's called secret audio.

I got a disc changer in mine that I bought from LMC. No hacking on the dash at all and the head unit fits right in the stock location. I'd definitely recommend taking a look :waytogo:

yea forgot about that, fm modulated cd changer, you can buy em dirt cheap at wal-mart for like under a hundred. It plugs into the factory antenna spot on back of the HU then you plug your antenna into the cd changer cable. Usually wire the fm mod. box, constant 12v, ground, switched hot, plug it into the cd changer, plug in the cd changer remote, mount the changer and done.

There's a mounting bracket that goes under the dash and cd player goes in that. Crutchfield sells it.
