Hello, i am new in the forum, i really like it, it is very nice.
I had to replace the driver side fuel sending unit. Now i am trying to install the tank back but it is very hard to connect the sending unit hoses :( cause there is no room for it.
Can somebody share a procedure to connect the sending unit hoses and install the tank without removing the bed?

Thank you for your support.

I leave my hoses long and attached at the tank with clamps, with a second set of clamps loosely in place I pushup the tank, fish my hoses over, shorten as needed tighten my clamps with a 6 in 1 screwdriver with the tip removed, so its a nut driver. Of course you use new hose it is much more pliable and you can get the length you need.

It's tough to drop the tank and fix the lines without help and a way to jack the tank up at the same time.

Welcome from Austria.
As mentioned above longer fuel hose and a second set of hands.

I can do them by myself,no jack if they are empty. If you are using new tanks new straps new brackets leave the straps just barely snug, push the forward end of the tank up start 1 bracket bolt use it as a pivot, push the other end up start a bolt get all bracket bolts in place then tighten the straps

good reason to get one....use it for trans/transfer case as well. OI....found adapters to go on a normal hydraulic jack for a trans. Game changer for me...and cheaper.

Idk how well motorcycle jack would work on a lifted truck though. My truck sits pretty low so works perfect. Probably doing a transmission soon so maybe use it for that also. I lower everything lol my motorcycle is to low for the motorcycle jack

I used a transmission jack, you could do like ricko1966 said though. I left my hoses long enough from the tank on the ground and coiled when it went up.

I install the fuel lines on the tank first then feed them over the frame. The sending unit wire should be long enough to connect it as the tank is going up. Once you have the tank bolted to the frame connect the ground and hook up the fuel lines.

I just installed a new tank, drivers' side, on mine. The new gas lines are a lot thinner than the original and looked like it may rub on the frame so I took a short chunk of garden hose and slipped over the new line, then connected the new gas line as suggested by Ricko. I have a motorcycle jack so I used that and found it VERY helpful. Welcome aboard

I've had my tank out for a couple of weeks as I needed to drain the gas out since my truck has a blown engine anyways. I cleaned and painted it, and the brackets gloss black(Rustoleum Turbo), and installed new straps yesterday. I just have to put in the new button head bolts to hold the straps to the bracket. I lucked out and got 2 new straps from Ecklers for $7. $7 for shipping.
