Hey guys. I have a question on a broken part. Its on an 85 Chevy g30 motor home running a 350. Easy to deal with for the most part but some things broke and I need to get them replaced.

What is this vac valve attached to the thermostat called??

It’s alright. I’m curious like a cat, too. I have a couple friends that call me Whiskers. I meant to attach an emissions diagram that specified that stuff. It’s shown as “TRC VLV.” Supposedly, it’s supposed to keep the throttle plates from closing too abruptly during deceleration. Seems to me like another emissions thing that was trying to keep old fashioned Quadrajets in the game when CCC and TBI were already around and didn’t need as many gizmos to conform to regulations. Hopefully that helps with the vacuum side of things, and if you can find the wires, you can hook up the switch.

The Parts Place carries the throttle return solenoid. It is GM 1997479. FYI as I build my '85 K30 I found emissions changed 1/1/85. My truck was build 11/84 so it runs '84 emissions. You may be in the same boat. Does your carb have the valve (throttle kicker/return actuator) in the bottom left of photo #2? If not, there's not point of buying the solenoid. They sell the valve on eBay, but you have to have the bracket. Part number for that is
GM 17057174, Rochester 57174, ACDelco 214-1019 or Carter-202-784.

Also, Rockauto carries the broken ported vacuum switch that's on the other side of the thermostat if you need it.
